Mission Statement

The Gunnison Country Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to creating an environment in which businesses can succeed and providing visitor services which positively impact Gunnison’s tourism economy

 Reports To: Executive Director of the Gunnison Country Chamber of Commerce
Summary of Position: This position is designed to assist the Executive Director of the Gunnison Country Chamber of Commerce and to act as an information specialist in the Gunnison Visitor Center.
 Job Responsibilities: (including but not limited to)
 Administrative Duties
• Assist in the overall success of the membership program and the chamber
• Assist businesses interested in obtaining membership
• Welcome and assist members, visitors and tourists in the Visitor Center
• Update database of members and chamber contacts
• Prepare meeting notices, makes reminder calls and if necessary prepares meeting packets for committees
• Maintain files for committees and for the Executive Director
• Assist in all social media for Chamber
• Design and email correspondence to membership using Constant Contact
• Assist in designing and layout of Chamber advertisements and publications
• Maintain calendar of events
• Coordinate special projects as assigned
• Manage the Businesses Inventory in Visitor Center
• Manage brochures in Visitor Center, ensuring that businesses and other communities are contacted when addition material is needed.
Event Coordination
• Assist in planning and logistics for all on-site and off-site organization events and meetings
• Assess event objectives and determine most cost-effective means to deliver results
• Analyze event schedule and develop short and long-term strategies for resources and communication
• Establish vendor relationships and preferred vendor pricing for all aspects of event planning 

Qualifications/Skills Required:

• Demonstrated success in event management
• Demonstrated success in sales
• Knowledge of Businesses in the community
• Extensive knowledge of our County
• Superb customer service skills
• Ability to develop and maintain good relationships
• Excellent telephone skills
• Professional appearance
• Working knowledge of business as well as local, state, and federal government
• Professional and mature attitude; remains calm under pressure
• Clear verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and desktop publishing
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement events strategy
